Our commitment
Hopfly prohibits child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) in any form, including child sexual abuse material (CSAM). There are no exceptions: not for jokes, not for fiction, not for drawings or AI-generated images.
Any account that shares, requests or promotes such content, or uses Hopfly to contact a child for sexual purposes, is removed permanently, and we report it to the authorities.
Who Hopfly is for
Hopfly is a social app about beer, made for adults. Our Terms of Service require users to be at least 18 years old (16 with a parent's or guardian's consent where the law allows it). Every account confirms its date of birth against the legal drinking age where the user lives, and the app's games of chance are locked for anyone under 18.
Hopfly is not directed at children. If we learn that an account belongs to someone below the required age, we close it.
What is prohibited
Anywhere on Hopfly (posts, photos, videos, captions, comments, GIFs, profile pictures, names and meetups) it is prohibited to:
- share, request, link to or advertise child sexual abuse material of any kind, real, drawn or generated;
- sexualise a minor, including sexual comments about a child or a child's image;
- groom a child: contact a minor to build trust for sexual purposes, or arrange to meet them for that reason;
- sextort: threaten or pressure anyone, especially a minor, with intimate images;
- promote or facilitate the trafficking or sexual exploitation of children;
- share content that normalises or glorifies any of the above.
How to report
In the app. Every post, comment and profile can be reported:
- a post or a profile: open its ⋯ menu and choose Report;
- a comment: press and hold it, then choose Report;
- pick Child safety as the reason.
By email. Write to support@hopfly.app with the subject "Child safety". Say which account or post it is about. Please do not attach or forward the material itself.
If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local police first (112 or 110 in Germany, 911 in the US).
What we do
- Child safety reports go to the top of our moderation queue and are reviewed as soon as possible.
- Content that breaks these standards is removed.
- The accounts involved are banned permanently.
- Where the law requires it, we preserve the relevant data for law enforcement before deleting it.
- We report apparent CSAM and child exploitation to the competent authorities (see below) and cooperate with their investigations.
Reporting to authorities
Hopfly complies with applicable child safety laws. We report apparent child sexual abuse material and exploitation to the competent regional and national authorities, including:
- in Germany, the police and the Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA);
- the NCMEC CyberTipline (National Center for Missing & Exploited Children);
- other national authorities or hotlines where the users involved are located.
You can also report material directly, for example to the German hotlines jugendschutz.net and internet-beschwerdestelle.de, or through INHOPE's list of hotlines worldwide.
To report a child safety concern or ask about these standards, email us. Child safety reports are handled before anything else.
